Question

How do I fix contract problems with NC ARNG

Sent to Military Law Experts January 26 11:00 p.m.

Prior Service Marine Corps in NC Natl. Guard for the past three years. Total nightmare never issued all my 782 gear (TA-50 in Army terms), never got my bonus, can no longer make up drill so I have to miss a week of work every month (at a loss of about 900.00), and I still don''t have an MOS. Need to know how to go about getting this fixed I love to serve my country but this feels like I''m just getting screwed around. I''ve talked to friends that are reserve recruiters and they say its much better with the reserves vs. Natl. Guard, frustrate and at wits end.

Optional Information:
Wilmington, North Carolina

Talking to chain of command at Plt./E-7 level.

Dear USMC,

Thank you for your question.

Have you spoken to your commander and first sergeant?

This sounds to me like an issue for the Chain of command to tackle. Unfortunatly, the chain of command does not include the platoon sergeant or first sergeant.

The chain of command is the Platoon Leader, Commander, and so forth.

The NCO's are your chain of support.

So you have to go through them of course, I realize to get to the chain of command. If the NCO's filter you out, then you need to request MAST. You can not be denied an opportunity to request mast as a marine. (I used to be a Marine, semper fi)

This is an issue which you have recourse to escalate, but you should not do so, without giving the entire chain of command a chance to fix it first.

That shounds great I was told that there is no type of request mast in the Army so my only choice after a letter to my Company Commander and 1stSgt is an IG.
